Strategies and Tips for Fighting in Guild Battles

General Strategies

Before the Battle:

1.  There is no benefit of you staying a Warrior.  It is the default that everyone receives if they do not change it.  Clerics are by far them most valuable to the group, because every time you hit someone and win, you give 10 points of Health to everyone in your gate.  Mages are the next most valuable because every time you hit someone and win, you take off 10 points of everyone in the enemy's gate.

2.  When choosing a characteer (Cleric, Mage etc.) remember you can only do optimum damage or healing if you are at Level 3 in the character you choose.  This may influence your decision.

3.  To change your character from warrior to Cleric or Mage do the following steps:
     a.  On your Castle Age homepage, click on Guild.

     b.  Then click on Management.

     c.  Next click on Character Class.

     d.  Finally, click on the characters you want to be.

     e.  It takes one full day for the changes to take affect.

4.  Be on alert for Guild Battles.  One of our officers will send out a message to everyone with a link to the battle when it starts, so check your messages regularly.  Also keep an eye on your wall because we will blast the announcement of a battle to the wall.  Also we encourage you to send out this blast several times during the battle by hitting the green box that says, "      ".

5.  If you want to coordinate your hits with other members of our guild, download Skype and we will bring you into our STOMP battle room where this is done.  We have won many a battle because we worked together as a team to bring them down.  See the mini-lesson on How to Download Skype in STOMP to know how to do this.

6.  If you do not join Skype, it is a good idea to work with another member via the Chatbox on Facebook.  There is a mini-lesson on how to make a STOMP Guild Chatbox in STOMP.  In short, on Facebook you click Account, then Edit Friend, click Create a List, name it STOMP Guild, then add the STOMP members, then click Save.  The list of members is available in the mini-lesson and can be cut and pasted in a word document and printed for your use.

In the Battle

When you enter the battle you have ten tokens (you get a new token every 6 minutes).  How you use those first ten can make a huge difference in whether we win or lose the battle.

1.  When you first enter the battle go after "Active" Clerics and then "Active" Mages.  (You can tell if they are active if the Activity Points is anything over zero.  Zero means they are not in the battle yet.)  Take them all the way down to 0 Health.

2.  Next take out any "Active" players preferably Rogues first and then Warriors.  All active players need to be brought down to zero Health.

3.  Then hit all the inactive Clerics first, the inactive Mages second.  In addition, look at their health levels and take out the ones with the lowest Health number first.  (This way you can increase the number of enemy that has been knocked out faster.)

4.  Finally, take out the rest of the inactives.  Towards the end, you do not need to take the inactives down to zero, you can take them down to just below 20, and move on.

5.  When you are stunned.  (This means your Health is down to zero.)
     a. Your attack causes much less damage, and you receive less points, but you can still fight.

6. Please choose someone to attack that is a lower level than yourself or a warrior at the same or higher   level.  (Should you lose to a Cleric they heal themselves and everyone in their gate, Mages damage you and everyone in your gate.)  But if you lose to a warrior, no damage is done.  If you know you can hit players higher than your level and win, then test them out at the very beginning of the battle where the least damage will be done should you lose and keep track of who you can beat and who you need to avoid.  Warn others in the Skype Battle Room of those players that need to be avoided.

7.  When your 10 tokens are gone and if the battle is intense with many active enemy, please do not wait an hour to come back.  Stay close to the battle and hit the minute your token comes in.  You can easily do gifts and fight in other battles at the same time, just keep an eye on the clock and return when you know your token is in.

8.  If we are fighting a small army and most are inactive, we encourage you to use your ten tokens and then come back in an hour.  That way more of our guild can participate.

Things We Noticed

1.  Mages work best in the most active enemy gates, because everytime they have a win, they pull the whole enemy gate down 10 points.

After the Battle

1.  Each battle lasts 6 hours and a running countdown is located at the top lefthand corner of the main page of the battle.  Should you have to leave the battle early for any reason, note what time you need to come back to pick up your reward.
2.  As a general rule, you must pick your reward up within 6 hours of the victory or loss.
3.  To pick up your reward, click Collect Reward, then click Enter Shop, and your points are recorded.  In addition, you earn gold and experience points.

4.  The reason you want to do this is because you can buy other skills added to you to increase your ability to fight in guild battles.  Also there is a general that you can earn.

How To Find Your Elite Guard Quickly in Your Organization

Introduction

The first thing you should do when you long on to play Castle Age is to fill your Elite Guard.  When the Elite Guard is full you have greater strength when you attack and get more points when you quest.  Unless you use shortcuts, you can spend up to an hour finding your Elite Guard.  By using this shortcut, you can fill your Elite Guard in just a couple of minutes.  Here are the steps for filling your Elite Guard using your organization's Elite Guard page.  For demonstration purposes, we will be using the STOMP organization.

1.  Open up your Castle Age and click the Keep tab.

2.  After the Keep tab is open, click on the Elite Guard tab.

3.  With the Elite Guard tab open you will see pictures of your 10 Elite Guard if it is full, or empty pictures that say +Add if some are missing.  In this picture you can see you need to add two.  Next, request new Elite Guard by clicking the box on the right that says Elite Guard Publish to Friends.

4.  A box will come up that will request palyers to join your Elite Guard.  There is a message box that also comes up.  Type in the number of Elite Guard you need, and then click Publish at the bottom of the box.

5.  Now go to your wall of homepage of Facebook and find your request for Elite Guard.  Click on the words Join (your name) in Castle Age.

6.  After clicking your Elite Guard request, go up to your URL address box and copy the address.

7.  Copy your URL address by clicking on the address (It will become highlighted when selected.).  Then right click the mouse.  A menu box wil drop down.  At that point click copy on the the menu.

8.  While you have your Elite Guard request saved, go to your orgnaization.  In this case we are using the STOMP organization for demonstration purposes.  (If you do not know how to find your organization there are two ways: 1. Type in the name of your organization in the Search box and click the magnifying glass to find it.  2.  Click on the name of your organization on the left side of your Facebook wall or home page.  If you do not see it listed, click the words See All and it should come up.)

9.  Find the Discussion page that says Elite Guard and click it.

10.  When the page opens, paste your Elite Guard request in the empty box at the bottom and then click Save.  (To paste: click your mouse inside the box, right click, and then choose Paste.)

11.  Now when your guild or organization members come to the Elite Guard page, they can click on your URL address and add you to their Eilte Guard, and you can do the same with the other members who have left their URL addresses.

12.  Let's continue with adding to your Elite Guard.  We discovered earlier that you need 2 Elite Guard, so pick an address on the Elite Guard page of your organization and click it.

13.  The person you picked will come up and will tell you whether their  Elite Guard is full or they have been added to your Elite Guard.

14.  Click the x in the upper righthand cornder of that slide and it will return you to the Elite Guard page in your organization.  Next, repeat the process by clicking on another name.  Once again the person will come up that you selected and tell you whether or not their Elite Guard is full or you have been added to your Elite Guard.

15.  Keep repeating this process until the message comes up that tells you Your Elite Guard Is Full.  At that time you can return to your Castle Age home page and continue on with your battles.

How to Add Friends to Your Army

Introduction

Once you have accepted someone as a friend you must do a couple more things in order to add them to your Army.  Here are the steps to do this:

1.  Open up Castle Age and click on the menu tab Gift.

2.  A new menu bar will come up.  Click Invite on that bar.

3.  The Invite page will come up with two boxes.  The box on the left, Friends on Chat, contains names of people who are currently on-line.  If you see a name that you want in your Army in that box, you can click on the name of that person.

4. After you click on a name on the left, a Chat box will come up to that person inviting him/her to join your Army with a link to join.

5.  The person will then hopefully answer in the Chat box accepting or declining the offer.  If they say yes, and then they click the link, they are in your Army.

6.  The box on the right contains a list of all your friends from Facebook.  These names are in alpha order so all you need to do is go down the list and click the names you want added to your Army.  Use the scroll bar on the right to see all the names.  As you click the names, you will see them drop down into the box below.

5.  When you have finished picking the names click the blue box at the bottom that says Send Castle Age Request.  The list of names you have chosen will appear with the invitation they will receive to join your Army.  At this point click Send.

6.  After you send the invitations out a screen will appear that will tell you how many invitations were sent.  Find the message that says 29 requests sent so you can see where to find it.

How to Make a Guild or Organization Chat Box

Introduction

Probably by now most of you have discovered the chat box and are using it to talk with people on Facebook.  Wouldn't it be great that during a battle all of your guild members would show up in one place so  you can contact and talk with them about the battle without having to search for them.  Well in this mini-lesson you are going to learn how to make a guild or organization chat box.  First and foremost you must make sure you have added all your guild or organization names to your friends and army.  There are two mini-lessons in this blog site that will help you do that:  How to Add Guild Members to your Army, and How to Mass Add Members to Your Army.  Once you have done that you are ready to make a your guild or organization chat box.  For demonstration purposes we will be adding a chat box for the STOMP Guild members.  For your organization or guild, you just substitute the names of your people.  Follow the steps below to make one:

1.  When you go onto Facebook you will see some of your friends on-line on the lefthand side of the screen.  The little green box by their picture means they are currently on-line.  The gray box means they have been on-line recently and may come back.  You need to realize this is only a few of your friends.  In order to see everyone's name who is on-line you must go to the bottom righthand side of your screen and look for the Chat box.

2.  Click the Chat box and you will see a list of those who are currently on-line (green dot ) and those who have recently been on-line (empty dot ).  What you are going to create is a box at the top where just your Guild members will be.

3.  On your homepage of Facebook, put your cursor on Account in the upper righthand corner of the page and click.

4.  A drop down menu will appear.  Go down to Edit Friends and click again.

5.  Then click Create a List.

6.  A new box will open up.  At the top type in the name of your group.  In this case we will type in the name of STOMP Guild.

7.  By this time you should see names and pictures of all of your friends in Facebook.  Scroll down and find all your guild members and click on them one by one.  If a name of a guild member does not show, you probably need to invite him/her as a friend and then into your army.  Notice as you click on each name they  are surrounded by a blue box and given a check that they have been chosen.

8.  After you find all your guild members and you have clicked on each one, go down to the bottom of the page and click Create List.  Your list will appear and at that point you can edit or add more suggested names if you desire.

9.  Finally, to see how your list turned out, click Home at the top of the righthand page.  When you arrive on your Facebook homepage click the chat box at the bottom right side of the page.  You will see all your guild members who are on-line in a special box at the top of your chat box.  This will make it so much easier to work with your fellow guild members during battles.

For our STOMP Guild members I have added a current list of all our STOMP members.  I would suggest dragging the cursor over them, copying and pasting them onto a word document.  Then you can print the names out and use the list when you are choosing your Guild members for your Guild Member List.  For those of you who are not in STOMP you can use your own list that you get from the Guild page or organization.  Be advised however those names on the guild list are Castle Age names and you may need to click on the names twice to see their Facebook name.

How to Add Guild Members to Your Army

Introduction

Adding guild members to your army is absolutely essential in order to work together during guild battles and regular battles.  In addition, unless you add them you will not see these Guild members on your wall even when they are on-line.  Some battles in your organization you cannot join because the Guild member who called it may not be in your army.  So it is to your advantage to add every Guild and Organization member to your army.  There is a quicker way to do this and that is by mass adding members to your army.  Check the blog list of titles on the righthand side and you will find a lesson on how to do this.  Unfortunately, not everyone lists their email on Facebook for security reasons.  Therefore, you will need to use this procedure in this mini-lesson in order to add some of the names.  I would suggest doing the mass add first, and then pick up the ones you missed with this procedure.  Just follow the steps below:

1.  Go to your home page of Castle Age and click Guild on the menu bar.

2.  On the Guild home page scroll down until you see the list of your guild members.

3.  Find the little icon of a silhouetee of a person and a green +.  This means you need to add this person to your army.

4.  All you have to do is click on this icon and it will take you to this person's Facebook profile page.

5.  At the top you will see a little box that says, Add As Friend.  Click it and an invitation box will appear.  But before sending it, click the bottom left where it says Add a Personal Message.  In the message box write the words Castle Age and the name of your organization.  In this case you would write Castle Age - STOMP.   Then click Send Request at the bottom of the box.

6.  You will know the invitation has been sent when you see the phrase at the top of the page change to Awaiting Friend Confrimation.
